integration of the design and manufacturing options to ensure opportunities of relevant manufacturing
and surface decoration technologies are fully considered and exploited. This is generally a team effort
involving the artist/ graphic designer with inputs from potential suppliers of materials. At this stage
prototype samples are produced and tolerances are specified.
before final specification, tiles, manufacturing processes and methods have to be tested and refined
in order to achieve the most effective and efficient means for production - a very different situation to
prototyping. This will generally include production sampling if non-standard ceramic substrates (e.g.
3-D shapes/ nonstandard glazes etc.) have been specified, print proofing, colour tests and firing
regime testing.

this requires digitisation of the image(s), accurate image enhancement, layout for print and the
process of permanently attaching the image to the ceramic surface. All our ceramic decoration
requires a minimum firing temperature 800 degrees C. Packaging includes accurate labelling and
ordering and where necessary, installation and assembly documentation.
Often overlooked, but very important. Clients will often require additional installation support and
maintenance documentation, and an assurance that in the event of damage, either during installation
or during planned life expectancy, tiles and other products can be replaced.
